Patoti Sp. Marangkayu

The type locality is the Mangar River, some 25 km from the seaport of Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan (Kalimantan Timur) province, Indonesian Borneo. Still, the species range into Kutai Kartanegara Regency to the north. The color pattern differs depending on collection locality, with populations around Balikpapan exhibiting blackish body bars and those from further north appearing more reddish. One form said to be collected near Samarinda, has a greenish iridescence to the body.
