Bucephalandra, commonly called "buce," is a rheophytic plant native to the fast-flowing streams of Borneo. This genus thrives in both emersed and submersed conditions, adapting seasonally to dry and rainy periods. Buce plants showcase distinctive oblong leaves with characteristically wavy margins, though some varieties display circular or narrower forms. Foliage ranges from light to deep green, with select species featuring striking red, purple, or blue undertones. Many specimens exhibit delicate white spotting and an iridescent quality that shifts with light exposure. Under optimal care, mature plants may reward you with elegant white or pink flowers, adding visual interest to your aquatic environment.
